Maranello, 16 November – Over the weekend of 21 November, the Piero Taruffi di Campagnano circuit will host the Vallelunga 6 Hours, the famous endurance race now reaching its twentieth edition. There will be no less than fifty eight crews taking part, including six F430 GT2s.

Among the cars racing at the track on the outskirts of Rome will be four Ferraris enterred by the AF Corse team from Piacenza and the first of these will be entrusted to Emanuele Pirro, a very experienced driver, making his debut in a Maranello-built car, alongside two drivers from the Italian Ferrari Challenge series, Giorgio Serngagiotto, the outgoing Trofeo Pirelli champion and Stefano Gai, winner of the 2009 Coppa Shell. Maranello’s Corse Clienti department, in collaboration with Pirelli, the official sponsor of the one-make series wanted to give them the opportunity to take part in the race, as a reward for the excellent results obtained in the past season. The following week, the two men will be back on track at Valencia, for the 2010 Ferrari World Finals, for the deciding round of the Italian series and the battle for the title of World Champion for the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli.

Also taking part in this busy weekend of racing will be Giancarlo Fisichella, reserve driver for the Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro Formula 1 team, at the wheel of F430 number 4, entered by AF Corse, with whom he took part in this year’s prestigious Le Mans Series. In his home event, the Roman driver will be partnered by Marco Cioci and Piergiuseppe Perazzini, two veterans of GT racing.

The event gets underway on Saturday 20 November with free practice and qualifying, while on Sunday 21, the race starts at 9.30.
