Kubica: Pirelli test gave a basic idea

Robert Kubica insists not too much can be read into the Pirelli lap times as both the tyres and cars will change before the new season starts.
On Friday and Saturday, the drivers had their first taste of Pirelli's tyres as the Italian manufacturer prepares for its return to F1 as Bridgestone's replacement.
Ferrari dominated proceedings with Felipe Massa quickest on Day One and Fernando Alonso taking over on the second day the Abu Dhabi test. Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel was second on both days.
However, Kubica has warned against making any predictions for next season based on the two-day outing.
"It was the same when we swapped from Michelins to Bridgestones, you have to adapt the car set-up and just get an idea about the requirement of the tyre," Kubica told Autosport if Renault had made substantial set-up changes for the new tyres.
"You don't have to go deeply into the set-up (in the test) due to the fact that I think the tyres will change quite a lot for next year.
"It's still a very early stage. There is no point to go so deep into the balance or set-up here as next year the cars will be different and we might have completely different track conditions.
"It's just to get the basic idea of the new tyres."
The Renault driver did however confirm that the Pirelli tyres had a high rate of degredation, which rivals such as Nico Rosberg had already pointed out.
"There is no concern about quality. I think we can say that there will be some concerns about wear, but I assume that the tyres will change from now to the beginning of the season," said Kubica.
"It's a very early stage and if there are problems it's better that they come now than in March!
"If there was a car that could do 60 laps on one set of tyres I didn't see it...
"It can vary from car to car, but the general problems that people are having are the same. Some have a big problem, some have a small problem, but it's something to take care of."
