Alonso: 'I'm not afraid of Sebastian Vettel'

Fernando Alonso has responded to comments that Luca di Montezemolo made earlier last week when he claimed Sebastian Vettel would soon drive a red car.

The Ferrari president told German paper, the Express, that 'sooner or later he [Vettel] will be driving a red car.'

Alonso though says he wouldn't be worried by the arrival of the youngest ever Formula One world champion at the Maranello based outfit.

"I'm not afraid of Vettel," he said whilst competing in a charity run for UNICEF in his hometown of Oviedo.

"Should he come to Ferrari one day it won't be a problem, I have nothing to say on the matter," added the Spaniard.

"I'm not afraid to face any team-mate, I've never feared any of them. None of my team-mates have ever finished a season with more points than I have, so I don't see why I should be afraid of anyone."

Meanwhile, he added he was confident Ferrari would build a car able to compete with Red Bull and McLaren in 2011 to give him another shot at his third title.

"I have no doubts that next year Ferrari will build the car that I want."
