Stewart wants to see Di Resta on grid
Three-times World Champion Sir Jackie Stewart hopes to see fellow Scot Paul di Resta on the Formula One grid next season.
Di Resta, who was the Force India test and reserve driver this year, is one of several drivers who have been linked with a race seat at the Silverstone-based outfit for the 2011 campaign.
However, he faces stiff competition from incumbents Adrian Sutil and Tonio Liuzzi and Williams discard Nico Hulkenberg.
Stewart, who earlier this week called the 2010 grid the 'best field ever', believes Di Resta would help strengthen the 2011 line-up.
"I don't see any reason why Paul shouldn't be on the grid next year," Stewart told The Scotsman. "He's impressed everyone with what he's achieved during his Friday test sessions with Force India this year, and he's fast.
"But he's also very clever, astute and - from what I've heard - very good with his technical feedback.
"I definitely think he'd help strengthen the grid even more."
Meanwhile, another triple World Champion Niki Lauda believes Force India should pair Sutil and Hulkenberg next year.
"If you only look at sporting criteria then Adrian Sutil and Nico Hulkenberg should be contracted for 2011," he told Swiss paper Blick.
