Although the BBC has yet to make an official announcement, it is now public knowledge that often-criticised commentator Jonathan Legard has been dumped ahead of the new season.
Legard himself revealed the news on his Twitter page. "Life moves on," he said. "Ask Nick Heidfeld or Narain Karthikeyan. You never know what's next. To the critical and the complimentary, thanks for the company."
It is widely reported the BBC will announce officially that David Coulthard is moving into the commentary box for 2011 alongside his former manager and fellow former McLaren driver Martin Brundle.
Brundle is expected to continue his famous grid walk even though he is now the lead commentator, while Coulthard will continue to appear alongside fellow pundit Eddie Jordan "where possible".
