Legard says goodbye via Twitter
It looks like Jonathan Legard has announced his departure from the BBC's F1 commentary team via Twitter.
Speculation has been rife that the public broadcaster will replace Legard after two years as lead commentator. Martin Brundle is rumoured to be taking over from Legard while David Coulthard is likely to slot in with Brundle in the broadcasting booth.
The Beeb is yet to confirm their line-up for next season and it looks like Legard broke the news before his employers.
'Life moves on. Ask Nick Heidfeld or @narainracing. You never know what's next. To the critical and the complimentary, thanks for the company,' he wrote on the social-networking site.
Tom Cary from The Telegraph also confirmed via Twitter 'BBC to confirm Martin Brundle alongside David Coulthard in the #f1 commentary box this morning'.
He later added: 'Incidentally I understand Brundle to continue grid walk and Coulthard to continue pre-race reporting duties alongside EJ and JH "where poss".'
