McLaren set for post-Valencia launch
It appears that McLaren may use the MP4-25 in the first round of testing after announcing the launch of their new model for the day after the Valencia tests.
Pre-season testing commences at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo from 1-3 February, and the Woking-based outfit have now announced that they will reveal their 2011 car in Berlin on 4 February.
The timing of the launch suggests that the team may make use of their 2010 chassis in Valencia, with the 2011 challenger to make its debut a week later at Jerez.
Force India and Hispania have already confirmed they will not be using their 2011 models in the first round of testing while Ferrari have indicated their launch may only take place in mid-February.
At present, only Renault, Sauber and Toro Rosso have scheduled their unveilings for the start of the Valencia proceedings.
2011 car launch dates:
Sauber-Ferrari C30: 31 January in Valencia
Renault R31: 31 January in Valencia
Toro Rosso-Ferrari STR6: 1 February in Valencia
McLaren-Mercedes MP4-26: 4 February in Berlin
Ferrari: Final week of January in Maranello
