Schumacher Return To Form 'Impossible'
Alain Prost believes that Michael Schumacher is too old to reach the same level of performance that he was at prior to his retirement.
After a largely unsuccessful return to the sport last year in which he was beaten by team-mate Nico Rosberg on most occasions, many have questioned whether Schumacher will be able to up his game in 2011, something Prost believes that that won't happen.
"His decision to come back was personal and I respect it," Prost told Le Matin Dimanche of the seven-time World Champion.
"I think it's impossible, at his age, to return to where he was in the past, but I hope he proves me wrong."
For his part, the 55-year-old no longer feels the desire to race at the highest level.
"What's the point of doing something when you know you won't feel the same way as before?
"When you look back we were in front, but if you are behind it's awful!" he said.
The four-time World Champion did however admit he would like to drive a current F1 car, "but only to assess the developments in technology, which has always fascinated me."
