Indian beauty pageant contestants' visit to Thailand
NAKHON PRATHOM, 15 February 2011 (NNT) - Minister of Tourism and Sports Mr. Chumpol Silpa-Acha has welcomed Indian beauty pageant contestants on their trip to Thailand in preparation for the contest.
As part of their activities, the 24 Indian contestants yesterday visited Riverside Rose Garden , Suan Sum Pran, Nakorn Pathom Province.
During the visit they were divided into different groups, all of which participated in several activities. The first activity on the list was Thai dessert and garland making, which was aimed at introducing them to Thai culture.
In the next activity each beautful contestant was given a chance to try her hand at painting pictures on an umbrella, a northern Thailand culture. They later watched traditional Thai folk entertainment which included dancing and singing.
Minister of Tourism and Sports Mr. Chumpol Silpa-Acha then greeted the contestants, welcoming them to Thailand; saying it was a good opportunity for both countries, India and Thailand, to exchange tradition and culture, as well as to promote Thai tourism. He also wished all of them them luck and hoped they would enjoy their staying in Thailand.
The Indian beauty pageant contestants have been in Thailand in preparation for the contest. They are to spend a total of 1 week in Thailand.
