Samui Body Painting Competition kicks off this weekend
SURAT, 23 February 2011 (NNT)-Executive Director of the Department of Events of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Chaiwiwat Boonyapak in collaboration with Samui Municipality has opened “Samui International Body Painting Competition” which is expected to take place this weekend on Thailand’s most popular island of Samui, Surat Thani province.
Mr. Chaiwiwat said the budget for this event was worth 10 million baht. The event will feature nifty body-painters and 9 beautiful female models from Australia, England, the United States, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Romania, South Korea and Thailand.
Visitors can get a henna tattoo instead of a needle tattoo which is more painful.
The Samui International Body Painting Competition is Thailand’s first and it is believed to earn the country the fame as the body painting hub of Asia. Similar events have previously been held in Germany and Canada.
