Ferrari down the years at Mugello
Mugello, (Scarperia,) 7 April – Just a few days before the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli season gets underway this weekend at Monza, owners involved in the XX programmes, along with historic Formula 1 car owners have been taking part in a test session at the Mugello circuit, under the supervision of the Ferrari Corse Clienti department engineers.
On this special day, those entered in Ferrari’s non-competitive track programmes were able to see how they measured up on a very technical track, boasting the very latest safety standards. For some it was a case of getting a feel for the excitement of Formula 1 and for those in the XX Programmes, a chance to enjoy the pure pleasure of driving in complete safety.
There were a dozen Ferrari 599XX on track, with the non-homologated sports car designed exclusively for track use joined by three FXX and seven historic single-seaters, including two 1998 F300s, an ex-Schumacher F2002 and, of the more modern cars, the F2007 that Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro took to both World Championship titles.
Special guest on the day was Marc Gene, the Spaniare who works with Scuderia Ferrari on car development, in Mugello as a coach for those owners driving their historic F1 cars.
Those enrolled in the Ferrari Corse Clienti’s non competitive programmes will be back in action at the end of May at California’s Infineon circit, as part of the first Ferrari Racing Days of the season and the opening round of the North American Ferrari Challenge Championship.
Generazioni di Ferrari al Mugello
Mugello (Scarperia), 7 aprile – A pochi giorni dall’inizio della stagione agonistica del Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli che scatterà questo fine settimana a Monza, i clienti coinvolti negli XX Programmes ed i proprietari delle Formula Uno storiche sono stati impegnati oggi sul circuito del Mugello per una sessione di prove private seguite dallo staff tecnico del Dipartimento Ferrari Corse Clienti.
In questa speciale giornata, gli iscritti ai programmi non competitivi Ferrari hanno avuto l’opportunità di misurarsi su un tracciato molto tecnico, dotato delle più moderne norme di sicurezza e di assaporare il brivido della F1 o, come nel caso dei clienti coinvolti negli XX Programmes, il puro piacere di guida, in condizioni di assoluta sicurezza.
A scendere in pista accanto ai dodici esemplari di Ferrari 599XX, la berlinetta sportiva non omologata concepita per un uso esclusivo in circuito, tre FXX e sette monoposto storiche, tra le quali spiccavano due F300 del 1998, una F2002 ex Schumacher e, tra le più recenti, la F2007 con cui la Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro ha conquistato entrambi i titoli Mondiali.
Ospite d’onore della giornata Marc Gené, il pilota spagnolo a disposizione della Scuderia Ferrari per le attività di sviluppo della monoposto, presente in veste di coach per i clienti impegnati al volante delle F1 storiche in alcune sessioni di giri liberi.
I protagonisti delle attività non competitive del dipartimento Ferrari Corse Clienti saranno nuovamente in azione alla fine di maggio sul circuito californiano di Infineon, che sarà anche teatro del primo Ferrari Racing Days e del primo appuntamento del Campionato Ferrari Challenge Nord America.
