Red Bull are expecting Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel to be closer to each other in Malaysia after the team "found a few things" that may have caused Webber to be off the pace in Australia.
Webber finished fifth at his home grand prix, while Vettel qualified on pole and took a comfortable victory. The difference between the team-mates was larger than had usually been the case in 2010, and team principal Christian Horner said the team felt it had found the cause to allow Webber to be more competitive.
"In the sort of post mortem on the event, we found a few things on Mark's car," Horner said. "A few things set-up-wise, that certainly wouldn't have helped Mark, and all those elements have been changed for Malaysia, where we'd expect the two of them to be much closer together."
Horner did admit however that Red Bull didn't find a main reason why Webber was so far off Vettel's pace, and that it was still not completely certain why the gap was so big.
"There was no single issue that we could pinpoint. I think there are elements that weren't right and the difference that we've seen between the drivers during the course of the weekend was bigger than it's ever been and not right, so I'm sure they would've contributed."
