Cisco, Wi-LAN sign patent license agreement

(Reuters) - Canadian patent licensing company Wi-LAN Inc said it signed a new patent licensing deal with Cisco Systems Inc, which will give the top network equipment maker a multi-year license to all of Wi-LAN's patent portfolio.
Ottawa-based Wi-LAN said terms of the agreement are confidential.
The company also said the new renewal agreement includes patents added to Wi-LAN's portfolio since October 2005, which was when the two companies last signed a patent license.
Shares of Wi-LAN closed at C$5.90 on Thursday on the Toronto Stock Exchange, while Cisco's shares closed at $17.17 on Nasdaq.
