(Reuters) - Foxconn Technology Group, maker of Apple Inc's iPhone and iPad, is looking at investment opportunities in Brazil in line with its strategy of "being where the market is," it said in a statement from its listed unit Hon Hai Precision Industry Co Ltd.

The statement comes after Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff said on Tuesday that Foxconn was considering investing $12 billion in Brazil.

"Brazil is a country with rich natural resources, a vast consumer market and tremendous economic development potential. It is also strategically positioned to meet the needs of growing markets throughout Latin America," the statement said.
