GP2 – A weekend to forget for Bianchi

Monaco, 28 May – It was a weekend to forget for Jules Bianchi here in Monaco, where he was competing in the third round of the GP2 championship, now in its seventh year. After having to retire from yesterday’s first race, the Lotus ART youngster started today’s Sprint race from 23rd on the grid. He worked his way up to fifteenth in the early stages, before coming home nineteenth, having incurred a drive-through penalty for overtaking when the race was being run behind the Safety Car. The race was won by Charles Pic for the Barwa Addax Team, from Arden International’s Josef Kral and DAMS’ Romain Grosjean.

The GP competitors will be back in action over the weekend of the 26 June, on the same card as the eighth round of the Formula 1 World Championship, the European GP at Valencia.
