Monaco GP - Could have done better: fourth and sixth places for Ferrari

Monaco, 28 May – It was a very hectic qualifying session, marred by the accident which befell Sergio Perez, which led to a long red flag period just 2’26” from the end of Q3. The Mexican driver, who is an FDA student was taken to hospital and we are awaiting news of his condition. After the barriers were repaired at the point of impact after the tunnel, no one was able to improve their times and therefore the positions were frozen, with Vettel on pole, ahead of Button and Webber. Fernando set the fourth fastest time and Felipe was sixth. Given how free practice and the first two parts of qualifying had gone, more would have been possible, but the red flag definitely did not do the Ferrari duo any favours. It’s a case of waiting to see what might happen in the race, which will be very long and uncertain.
