Ferrari Racing Days weekend Stateside at Laguna Seca

Maranello, 19 May – The Ferrari Challenge North America returns to action this weekend for the second round of its 18th edition at the legendary Californian circuit of Laguna Seca, a few kilometres from the splendid city of Monterey. The date will coincide with the second of this year’s Ferrari Racing Days, an event that will see on track some classic jewels in the Shell Ferrari Historic Challenge. That is a competition open only to Ferrari models that have received a certificate of authenticity or the guarantee for cars of historic interest alongside an FIA Historic Technical Passport. Together with the intense programme of competition, the extraordinary track will also see six legendary cars in action from the F1 Clients department. Among them will be the 312 B2 with which Belgium’s Jacky Ickx raced in 1972 and the ex-Berger/Mansell F1-89 through to the more recent F2001 and F2004 of Michael Schumacher. To make the event even more interesting, three FXX and seven 599XX cars will have an intensive testing session in the course of the weekend. Clients of the Maranello company who aren’t competing in the event will also be supported by professional drivers Gimmi Bruni and Thomas Kemenater, who will offer their precious suggestions to help add to the pure pleasure of driving on the track.

The programme will get under way tomorrow with the first sessions of driving, before the protagonists of the Ferrari Challenge Pirelli Trophy and the Shell Ferrari Historic Challenge take to the track on Saturday and Sunday.
