Ferrari Corse Clienti brings historic F1 cars to Imola

Imola, 15 June – Imola’s Enzo e Dino Ferrari circuit today hosted the third of this season’s F1 Clienti days, which featured owners taking their historic Formula 1 cars round the track for free practice sessions, all organised by the technical staff of the Ferrari Corse Clienti department.

On this special day, drivers involved in Ferrari’s non-competitive programmes took turns on the Imola track, receiving valuable advice from Gimmi Bruni, fresh from coming second in the LMGTE PRO class in the legendary Le Mans 24 Hours, alongside Giancarlo Fisichella and Toni Vilander in their AF Corse entered 458 Italia GT2. Bruni, whose palmares also includes a stint in F1, was present today as an instructor to help the owners get a good understanding of the track and of the telemetry data.

There were nine historic Formula 1 cars on track, notably the F1-89, as driven by Nigel Mansell, the 1998 F300, the forty fifth car built by Scuderia Ferrari to compete in F1 and with which Michael Schumacher took seven wins and the F2001 that the German drove to nine victories. Among more recent examples, the amazing F2007 with which the Scuderia won both World titles that year.

Participants in the F1 Clienti programmes will be back in action alongside owners involved in the XX Programmes, in Shanghai on 24 July, at the same time as the second round of the Ferrari Challenge APAC.
