Ferrari hits Red Square

Moscow, 15 July – A special day in what is still a short history of Formula 1 in Russia. The Muscovites gave an enthusiastic welcome to the F10 Formula 1 car in the paddock set up for the fourth running of the Moscow City Racing. While awaiting the arrival of a Formula 1 Grand Prix on home turf at Sochi in 2014, this event gives fans the chance to see Formula 1 cars in action against a truly amazing backdrop. The presence of last year’s Ferrari Formula 1 championship car was the big surprise this year, being the first time that a Prancing Horse F1 car has run on the paving of the famous Moscow square alongside the east wall of the Kremlin. As the paddock was being set up, Giancarlo Fisichella was there representing Scuderia Ferrari, for whom he works on car development. “I was stunned to see the amazement in the eyes of people working around here and others passing through, or some who might have been waiting for a while,” said Fisichella at the end of the opening ceremony for the paddock. “When the F10 came out of the truck, everything went quiet and time seemed to stop. It must be very exciting for Formula 1 and Ferrari fans to see the car up close. I can perfectly understand how they feel, because it’s something I still feel to day, having the privilege to drive it.
