Rain can’t dampen the enthusiasm in Moscow
Moscow, 17 July – The fourth Moscow City Racing event was held today in the Russian capital and even bad weather could not dampen the spectacle for the race fans as they got close to the action. Fortunately, a break in the torrential rain that began during the night meant the event could go ahead with a slight delay, while the combination of rain and the uneven nature of city streets made for a particularly slippery track. After attending a press conference, Scuderia Ferrari’s Giancarlo Fisichella took part in the usual parade, at the wheel of a Ferrari California, before tackling two runs in the F10, the car used last year by Scuderia Ferrari in the Formula 1 World Championship. “It was a great honour to represent the Scuderia on such a special occasion, the first time a Ferrari Formula 1 car has been driven through the streets of Moscow,” commented Fisichella, speaking to the waiting media. “The organisers have done an amazing job to lay out such an interesting course, which I definitely found more interesting than previous ones of this type that I have driven. You had to be very careful, because the water made the urban streets slippery, but it was really exciting to feel the enthusiasm of the fans as I was driving and they were not put off by the rain, packing the viewing areas around the track. I want to thank our sponsor Kaspersky Lab and the Ferrari family of which I am a part, for having given me this truly unforgettable opportunity.”
