REFINED PERFECTION

In Maranello there are two ateliers where clients can get their personalised car. As a matter of fact all Ferraris are different from each other. Let’s take a look at this 612 Scaglietti inspired to the sophisticated Italian style of legendary Riva powerboats.

For Norberto Ferretti, a great nautical entrepreneur, owner of Cantieri Riva among other brands and big Ferrari collector, these designs by Mauro Micheli have been done with rigorous precision. He the architect talks about the two proposals:

‘The project has been developed around the desire to achieve a synthesis of materials and colour with the aim of generating a very linear and essential product. This is reflected in the choice of just two colours to be used in each of the Scaglietti 612 models in question: a neutral tone – dark or white – with wood essence, heir of the nautical sphere, joined by leather. In terms of the bodywork, in the dark version we chose a colour that is difficult to define: it is a “non-colour” obtained from the blending of navy blue, brown and anthracite. For the light version, we have opted for an ice-white tone, a cold colour but one with personality. In both cases the rims are made of titanium and so darker than usual alloys. The most striking external feature has been the inclusion of a wooden element in the lower half of the wing mirror: mahogany for the dark version and teak for the light.

For the interior, the concept is the breakdown of space into two distinct volumes: the upper part of the dashboard linked to the central strip that forms a sort of t-shape that divides the car from all the rest. The central band of the dashboard, the part that houses the ventilation outlets, is made of wood essence. The rest of the “T” is upholstered in leather, in the same tone as the wood, except for the bottom surfaces of the oddment compartment which are wooden. The rest of the car is upholstered in leather and carpet, colour coordinated with the bodywork. Thus, the dark version has mahogany on the rev counter; the leather on the doors and seats is the same “non-colour” as the bodywork. In the light version the wood is teak, accompanied by natural leather, and the rest of the padding is ice white. In both versions, the stitching on the seats has been simplified and the leather element features the initials “NF” for Norberto Ferretti.’
