Pastor Maldonado is open about his love of English girls, but he’s starting to get a reputation… When our PR guru Sophie Eden walked into his room in Turkey, he was virtually naked and the same happened today at Silverstone. Lyndsey Fairburn, a relatively new addition to the AT&T Williams communications team, knocked on his door, she found him wearing very little as well! (A man is allowed to get changed – ed).
Our celebrity chef, Michael Caines, downed tools before lunch in order to show a TV crew around the AT&T Williams kitchen. With 5 Live due to do the same tomorrow morning and other TV crews queuing to interview him, it’s proving to be a busy weekend for him. Or is everyone simply trying to blag a free meal?
The Silverstone weather had the last laugh today. As rain and wind whipped through the pits and paddock, technical director Sam Michael and electronics engineer Andy Harman must have regretted the super-short haircuts they’ve had since the last race at Valencia. Moves are afoot for a “bring back the mullet” campaign on the AT&T Williams race team…
The annual BRDC media barbecue took place this evening. It was a very British affair: only members of the British press corps were invited; only British-reared meat was eaten and horizontal rain came down for the duration! Remarkably, spirits remained high despite the weather – again, a very British outlook!
