FDA – Marciello on the podium at Spa
Spa-Francorchamps, 6 August – Belgium’s Spa-Francorchamps circuit has hosted a busy race card this weekend and today, Ferrari Driver Academy students, Raffaele Marciello and Brandon Maisano were in action in the first of two races in the Italian Formula 3 championship.
At the end of Race 1, run in heavy rain over 28 minutes plus one lap, Marciello (Prema Powerteam) finished on the third step of the podium, setting the fastest race lap of 2.37.133. Less fortunate was the other Ferrari academy driver, as Maisano (BVM Target) crossed the line in seventh spot, one place higher than his grid position, thanks to Victor Guerin going off the track. Maisano’s best opportunity comes tomorrow in Race 2, when he starts from pole position as grid positions are reversed for the top eight in qualifying. The final race gets underway tomorrow at 10.20.
