Ferrari Challenge North America – the curtain comes down at Lime Rock Park
Maranello, 31 July – The curtain came down yesterday on the fifth round of the Stars and Stripes series of the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli, held at Lime Rock Park, Lakeville, Connecticut this weekend. Of the gentleman drivers in the two races, of those running the 458 Italia Challenge, the first win went to Enzo Potolicchio of the Fort Lauderdale Ferrari team, while the second one saw victory go to Ferrari of Quebec’s Emanuel Anassis. As for the F430 Challenge competitors, Juan Hinestrosa (Ferrari of Fort Lauderdale) took a fantastic double win to become the new leader of the classification. At the same time as this round of the Ferrari one-make series, there was also an event for the beautiful historic cars running in the Ferrari Historic Race –Trofeo Shell, the second of the season. Six cars took part in two races with the same finishing result for both: Michael Schein was first past the flag at the wheel of an F40 LM, followed by Todd Morici in a 512 BB/LM and Lorne Leibel driving a 365 GTB/4 Daytona.
Competitors in the North America series face a long break before getting back on track at the Homestead Raceway in Miami, Florida, over the weekend of 23 September.
