FDA - Brandon Maisano shines at Vallelunga
Maranello, 18 September – Ferrari Driver Academy student, Brandon Maison took victory in Race 2 of round six of the Italian Formula 3 Championship, held at Vallelunga. At the end of the 28 minutes plus one lap of racing, the Frenchman took his BVM Target past the chequered flag a full five seconds ahead of closest pursuer, Team Ghinzani’s Facundo Regalia. Having started from pole, Maisano kept the lead throughout, gradually building up a lead with every passing lap, without making the slightest mistake. Raffaele Marciello was twelfth for the Prema Power team. He had been ninth for most of the race, but went off on the gravel during the last lap. There was some consolation for him as he set the race fastest lap in 1.32.183.
Maisano is now best of the rookie drivers and lies second in the overall classification on 97 points, four behind the leader Campana, while Marciello is third on 95.
The next round of the Italian Formula 3 Championship takes place on 2 October at the Mugello circuit.
