Singapore GP - Alonso fourth, Felipe ninth: Singapore does not smile on Ferrari
Singapore, 25 September – It was not the Singapore Grand Prix we were hoping for. Despite the best efforts of Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa, only 14 points came the team’s way, with the Spaniard fourth and the Brazilian ninth. The car performance was not a match for that of the McLaren and Red Bull and only a great start from Fernando saw him fight for the podium for at least two thirds of the race. Felipe’s race, with him always driving in quick and determined fashion, was ruined when he got a puncture after Hamilton collided with him. It meant he had to do almost a complete lap at a very slow pace and then make an extra stop. He staged a great climb up the order in the closing stages, which at least brought him into the points, but it was a meagre consolation.
