Felipe Massa said that the wet Friday practice for the Korean Grand Prix turned out to be "rather a complicated day".
Massa did not set a lap time in FP1 as the track conditions restricted the teams to wet tyre running. In the second session conditions improved and Massa completed 24 laps to set the seventh best time, albeit 2.8s off the pace of Lewis Hamilton. With the best times being set early in the session but track conditions not deteriorating, Massa said that the degredation of the intermediate tyres had made any set-up work difficult.
"Rather a complicated day," Massa said. "The track did not provide much grip and degradation on the intermediates seems to be more significant than usual: there is no other way to explain the fact that, even if an ever drier line was emerging, the times did not drop. Obviously, it makes it difficult to prepare as well as possible for the race and qualifying, but it's the same for everyone."
Massa also said that the pit lane exit needs modifying after Nico Rosberg ran in to the side of the emerging Jaime Alguersuari during FP2.
"The exit of the pit lane is difficult, as one could see from the collision between Rosberg and Alguersuari: I think efforts should be made to improve it for the future."
