Challenger SRT8 392 made its officially debut at SEMA Show 2010. The 2011 Dodge Challenger SRT8 392 was the headliner in a row of 35 vehicles exhibited by Chrysler. However, the Dodge Challenger SRT8 392 is really a true muscle car that looks astonishing.
The makeover of Dodge Challenger SRT8 392 features a new larger front splitter, an improved exhaust system developed by Mopar and a body-hue spoiler. Moreover, its designers had in mind two color options for Challenger’s exterior: Water Blue or Bright White Clear Coat accentuated by Stone White or Blue racing stripes. The SRT-exclusive 20 inch wheels contribute in the development of a unique aesthetic describing one of the most indefatigable and in the same time invincible machinery of our times.
The interior design of the new Dodge Challenger SRT8 392 was inspired by the racing cars world, the North American manufacturer wishing to convince us, through all the car’s details, that they managed to create a fireball. The Smooth Pearl White leather used for the seats beautifully contrasts the blue accents, stripes and stitching. Both front seats are adorned with an embroidered 392 logo. The instrument panel and the door handles are painted in a unique silver metal colour. Moreover, an “Inaugural Edition 392 HEMI” dash plank finishes the exclusive interior.
Thus, there is a balanced approach between appearance and performances, SRT8 392 being the fastest coupe in the Dodge series, aimed to please all the brand’s enthusiasts. “We listened to our devoted, Loyal Dodge customers, and this new Dodge Challenger SRT8 392 answers their call for more power off the line”, said Ralph Gilles, President of Dodge Brand, Chrysler Group LLC.
The Dodge Challenger SRT8 392 is powered by a new 6.4-liter V8 engine which produces no less than 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. The plus of torque improved the straight-line performance of 392, while the new motor mounts assure a comfortable trip and a great control of the vehicle at any speed.
The Challenger is attainable in two variants: with standard five-speed automatic transmission with Auto Stick or with Tremec TR-6060 six-speed manual transmission, first available on the 2008 Dodge Viper SRT 10. In addition, the muscle car features Fuel Saver technology on the automatic transmission-equipped variants, permitting the engine to run economically on four cylinders and also utilize eight cylinders when it is the case.
The 2011 Dodge Challenger SRT8 392 presented at SEMA Show 2010 is capable of going from 0 to 60 mph in 4 seconds and a ¼ mile run in 12 seconds.
Chrysler desires to build 1,492 Inaugural Editions of the Challenger SRT8 392, which will be assembled at Assembly Plant in Brampton, Ontario, Canada and will be available for customers just after Thanksgiving.
