Virgin's Timo Glock still harbours ambitions of winning the championship with one of the sport's biggest teams in the future.

Glock, 28, made his F1 debut in 2004 with Jordan before four years out of the top flight. He returned with Toyota in 2008 after winning the GP2 title, but when the Japanese manufacturer withdrew from F1 last year, he moved to Virgin where he recorded zero points, 9 DNFs and a best finish of just 14th.

He was been linked with a move to Renault for 2011 but has now admitted that it is "99.9% certain" he will stay at Virgin next season. Nevertheless, Glock still dreams of winning the drivers' championship with a top team.

"If you have the opportunity to go to Red Bull or McLaren, then you'd have to go for it," he told Allgemeine Zeitung. "From a sporting perspective you are open to new possibilities. It is definitely still my goal to go for the world championship."

But he does not resent fellow German Sebastian Vettel, who is five years younger than him and won the title with Red Bull this year.

"You cannot begrudge him," Glock said. "He has done a great job this year, maybe one or two errors. But it's the same for everyone."

Glock admitted Virgin had made some mistakes this year - such as a fuel tank without the capacity to last a race distance - but said that was normal for a brand new team.

"In the winter we lost too much time because some basic things did not work, but you can't expect it all to fall into place right away for a new team with a blank sheet of paper."
