Lewis Hamilton is determined to bounce back in 2011 after missing out on the championship this year, and is confident McLaren will deliver a car to do it.
Hamilton finished fourth in the title race, 16 points off the new world champion Sebastian Vettel, after winding up second at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. He admitted Red Bull had beaten the competition fair and square this year but expects to be back in the chase next season.
"It's not been the most spectacular season for us, but huge congratulations to Red Bull and Sebastian," Hamilton said. "He really did a fantastic job throughout the year and fair dos to him. It was a great end-of-season result for me and Jenson, I think we pushed very hard throughout the year so a big thank you to all the guys back one at the factory.
"Next year will be a better year."
Hamilton was running second early in the race, but after pitting he came out behind the Renault of Robert Kubica. The timing of the stop effectively ended his chances of challenging Vettel for victory but he did not blame his team strategists.
"I'm sure the team did everything for the right reasons and at the time we needed to try and jump Sebastian, I guess it was just unfortunate that we came out behind a Renault."
