Webber not leaving Red Bull for 2011
Mark Webber has no plans to leave Red Bull at the end of the season, despite saying on Thursday that the team favours Sebastian Vettel.
Webber told reporters in Brazil that it was "obvious" Red Bull gives more support to Vettel on a personal level, even if technically the pair were given equal treatment. The comments led to rumours in the paddock on Friday that he would retire at the end of the season or move to another team, but Webber says he intends to honour his one-year contract for 2011.
"I think that's a pretty big step [to leave the team]," he told reporters on Friday. "As long as I'm enjoying my driving, and performing reasonably well, which went okay today - as long as I don't forget how to drive in the next few months, then I'll be here."
He denied that his relationship with the team had been tainted and indicated that his comments were aimed at certain factions within Red Bull.
"It's okay," he added. "Yesterday there were a few comments which I don't think were too much of a surprise to people. It's fine in the team, absolutely fine. I have a very good relationship with the right people to give me as I say technically a great chance to do a very good job. That's the most important thing."
