The F1 Times 2010 Awards - The Results
You voted in your hundreds to decide the outcome of seven categories: Driver of the Year; Team of the Year; Race of the Year; Car of the Year; Rookie of the Year; Most Improved Team and the Craziest Moment of 2010.
The votes have been counted and the winners are revealed below.
Sebastian Vettel took the driver of the year award and, many would agree, the young German deserves the accolade after securing his first crown during a sensational year of racing.
Vettel secured 24% of the vote, with Fernando Alonso just behind on 22%.
Red Bull secured team of the year. Thanks to their double championship win? Possibly.
The team managed the strategies of both drivers well in 2010 and ensured they went home with not only the drivers' title, but the constructors' too.
Almost half the vote (46%) went their way, with McLaren-Mercedes a distant second on 22%.
Belgium [Spa-Francorchamps] took the race of the year, a race which was won by Lewis Hamilton in great style despite leaving the track on one occasion.
The mixed weather conditions - something of a frequent thing - ensured the race had everything from crashes to overtakes and everything in between.
It was a closely fought battle for race of the year with Belgium taking 18% of the vote, whilst Abu Dhabi and Canada both came joint-second on 10% apiece. Unsurprisingly, Bahrain didn't secure a single vote - the only race not too.
Red Bull's RB6 stormed into first place for car of the year. The raging bull of a machine was simply the quickest throughout the year and was rarely matched for raw cornering speed.
McLaren's MP4-25 took second, likely thanks to its innovative F-duct which secured it second in the constructors' table. (Red Bull 59%, McLaren 17%)
Kamui Kobayashi, everyone's favourite Japanese driver, took rookie of the year. The reasoning is no doubt clear to see with his stunning and, somewhat crazy, manoeuvres.
The Sauber driver took 52% of the vote. Nico Hulkenberg, who looks set to be left off the grid in 2011, came second with 20%.
Renault F1 took a well-deserved most improved gong in The F1 Times awards. The Enstone based outfit managed to outpace last years double-world champions (in the form of Mercedes), but lacked experience with their second driver, Vitaly Petrov, to overtake them in the tables.
Newcomer Lotus came second with 13%, compared to Renault's 25%.
Mark Webber flipping in Valencia fought it out for the craziest moment of the season. This was a closely fought category with so many insane happenings in 2010.
7% was the winning margin over Red Bull's Turkish GP crash which saw Webber and Vettel collide, handing the lead to Lewis Hamilton and, briefly, Jenson Button.
Heikki Kovalainen's Singapore fire was voted the third craziest moment followed by Sebastian Buemi's unique ejection tyres during practice in China.
