Prodrive may look at entering F1 again in 2013

Prodrive's David Richards has explained that his company won't be looking at enterting Formula One until the 2013 season.

The company has attempted to enter the sport on a few occasions, most recently for the 2010 season. Prodrive lost out against Lotus, Virgin, Hispania and USF1 - the latter of which failed to make the grid.

With that failed attempt, the company decided to focus its efforts on the WRC and Le Mans series, of which they will compete with Mini and Aston Martin.

"We always keep a close eye on everything, but my priority today is to get the Mini up and running for the World Rally Championship and to get Aston Martin competitive in time for Le Mans," said Richards during the Autosport show.

He expressed some interest in looking at F1 once again, when the new regulation changes come into effect.

"The obvious next point to look at Formula 1 is 2013 with the massive change in regulations that come along at that point in time, and if you were to consider an entry that would be the time to go."
