Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo has called for grands prix to take place later in the afternoon in order to attract bigger audiences.
Most races on the calendar traditionally kick off in the early hours of Sunday afternoon, but Montezemolo thinks F1 is missing a trick.
"I don't think it's good that in July or August the races begin at 2 o'clock when most people are lying on the beach," the Italian told Germany's Sport Bild. "Football games don't get started until 5 o'clock or later."
He also maintained his push for F1 teams to be allowed to field a third car run by another team.
"We don't want to build it for the Scuderia, but for another team," said Montezemolo. "A Spanish [team], an American, whatever."
