FDA – Marciello honoured by the Swiss Automobile Club

Maranello, 14 February – Ferrari Driver Academy student, Raffaele Marciello received no less than two important awards from the Automobile Club at an evening which was held at the Ferrari Loris Kessel showroom in Grancia, in the Canton of Ticino. Raffaele, born in Switzerland to Italian parents was awarded a special prize for drivers who had particularly distinguished themselves in the 2010 season, when he finished third in the first ever Italian Formula Abarth Championship.

Raffaele was nominated as an upcoming driver from Ticino, which saw him presented with the Loris Kessel Trophy, named after the racing driver and Ferrari dealer who died last year.

“I am very happy and a bit emotional,” said Raffaele, who drives in the Italian Formula 3 championship this year. “The prizes are a boost and further proof that I am doing a good job. I am particularly honoured to have received the Loris Kessel Trophy, as he was someone I held in high regard, as a man and as a driver.

Maranello, 14 febbraio - Il pilota della Ferrari Driver Academy Raffaele Marciello è stato insignito dall’Automobil Club di due importanti riconoscimenti, nel corso di una serata organizzata presso lo showroom Ferrari Loris Kessel di Grancia, nel Canton Ticino. Raffaele, nato in Svizzera da genitori italiani, ha ritirato un premio speciale al merito dedicato ai piloti che si sono particolarmente distinti nella stagione 2010, per aver concluso al terzo posto della classifica nella prima edizione del Campionato Italiano Formula Abarth.

Il secondo premio ritirato da Raffaele come pilota ticinese emergente è il Trofeo Loris Kessel, dedicato al pilota e concessionario Ferrari scomparso lo scorso anno.

“Sono molto contento ed anche un po’ emozionato – ha commentato Raffaele, che nella stagione 2011 sarà impegnato nel campionato italiano di Formula 3 – Sono premi che mi danno un’ulteriore carica e una riprova del fatto che sto facendo un buon lavoro. Sono particolarmente onorato per aver ricevuto il Premio Trofeo Loris Kessel, un uomo ed un pilota che stimavo molto”.
