Wives of members of the diplomatic corps and the Thai Red Cross Society are holding the 44th Diplomatic Red Cross Bazaar 2011, featuring leading products from 50 embassies based in Thailand, at the Royal Paragon Hall, 5th floor, Siam Paragon, on Saturday and Sunday, February 27.
This annual fund-raising event is a chance for Thais to find a wide range of local and signature products of each country, namely perfume and wine from France, clothes and accessories from India, food and ginseng from Korea, succulent salmon from Norway, brand name timepieces from Switzerland, cosmetics from Bulgaria, vitamins from Australia, batik cloth from Indonesia and high-quality products from the US. New members such as Mongolia and Ukraine will also showcase their native products.
At the fair will be booths selling products at bargain prices, such as cosmetics, accessories, home decorative items, premium export goods, as well as items from sponsors, among them L'Occitane.
Besides, there will be stage performances, including a mini concert by AF and KPN bands and cultural shows, plus many activities with fabulous prizes. Visitors will also have a chance to win air tickets and gift vouchers from leading hotels by entering a lucky dip which is priced at 50 baht per ticket.
The tickets will be drawn at the meeting room, on the 4th floor of Amnuay Noratham Building, Fund Raising Office, the Thai Red Cross Society, on March 17, from 10am.
Proceeds will be presented to HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, who is executive vice-president of the Thai Red Cross Society. The funds will be used to help underprivileged people and those affected by disasters under projects run by the Society.
HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn will preside over the opening ceremony on Saturday at 9am. The fair is open to the public from noon to 8pm on Saturday and 10am-8pm on Sunday, Feb 27. Entrance fee is 50 baht.
