Ferrari looks for immediate reaction

Stefano Domenicali has said that Ferrari will be looking to "react immediately" to its poor showing at the Australian Grand Prix.

Fernando Alonso finished fourth and Felipe Massa seventh (originally ninth before Sauber's exclusion) as Ferrari failed to display the form shown in pre-season testing, during which they had looked like the strongest challenger to Red Bull. Instead of heading straight to Malaysia for the next race, Domenicali flew back to Europe to review the performance, and said that he was dissatisfied with how the weekend had gone.

"There is no point in denying that we leave Australia with a sense of disappointment," Domenicali said. "Our performance level was not a match for that of the best, especially one of the Red Bulls. Now we will have to study everything carefully to work out what prevented us from being as competitive as we had expected this weekend."

Alonso had trouble getting heat in to the front tyres, as did Massa who spun in qualifying having just left the pit lane. Domenicali said that the team needed to add to the F150th Italia's downforce in order to improve the situation by the time it gets to Sepang.

"We will have to react immediately, starting with the next race in Malaysia. One of the main themes is the level of downforce at the front: we must find out why we did not get on track what was predicted by the data. One of the few bright points was reliability, especially on the engine side and with the KERS."
