Stroll takes his first podium in the Italian CSAI Karting championship

Jesolo, 8 May – The second round of the Italian CSAI Karting championship took place this weekend at Jesolo’s historic Pista Azzurra. It was just as impressive as the first round last month at Sarno’s Circuito Internazionale Napoli, with 173 drivers in the four categories KZ2, KF3, KF2 and 60 Mini. Of the drivers entered in the KF3, Lance Stroll of the Ferrari Driver Academy recorded the third best time in one of the qualifying rounds, only to be forced to retire due to a startline incident. But he recovered in the two races that took place today. The young Canadian talent, who drives for Chiesa Corse, finished 8th in the first race which was won by Federico Pezzolla (Taglienti Kart). Stroll managed third place in the second race after the disqualification of Pezzolla for a technical irregularity to the engine air flow system stated his disqualification, showing the renewed determination of the stewards to guarantee an impeccable competition. This is the first podium that Stroll has taken in the Italian series, a result that he will hope to match in the third round, scheduled for July 3 in Viterbo.
