David Guetta ready to rock Valencia
With just days to go until the F1 Rocks™ event in Valencia, headline act David Guetta is putting the finishing touches to his preparations. Mega producer Guetta will perform at the Spanish city’s Agora (Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias) on Friday night ahead of Sunday’s 2011 Formula 1 Grand Prix of Europe.
A multi-award winning artist in his own right, with three chart-topping albums to his name, the Frenchman has also worked with a variety of pop and hip-hop artists such as Jennifer Lopez, Rihanna, Lil’ Wayne, Kylie Minogue and Madonna. Friday’s event will be the first time Guetta has performed his new show in Spain - and he has promised his fans a few surprises.
“I always come with my robots and they’re definitely going to be speaking to the drivers and the teams,” he explained. “And I’m going to have a big LED 3D system, which is really crazy. I have a new show now and this will be the first time I’m going to perform it in Spain so it’s pretty exciting.”
Although the jet-set lifestyle of a top-flight music producer leaves little time for anything but making music, Guetta is a fan of fast cars and when asked to consider who he’d pick to join him in the pit lane if he were a driver, it didn’t take him long to select two ‘team mates’.
“I would take (producer and DJ) Afrojack and (Black Eyed Peas member) Will.i.am because I know they both love fast cars,” he added. “Will.i.am took me in his car, which is a super-fast electric vehicle. It’s like a race car. They would be two good partners definitely.”
After Guetta’s Friday performance, the on-track action on Saturday and Sunday will be followed by the exclusive F1 Rocks™ The Afterparty to be held at L’umbracle Terraza, also at the Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias. Legendary DJ Seb Fontaine will provide the soundtrack at both nights.
