A couple stuck on a 3,000ft (914m) Snowdonia peak were rescued after sending a photo of their location by mobile phone.
The Ogwen Valley mountain rescue team recognised it as the north gully of Tryfan and dropped a rope to them.
Team spokesman Chris Lloyd said: "Sending us a picture seems to be a very sensible and useful idea to give us an indication of their position."
Meanwhile a mountain biker was flown to hospital after a crash in Gwynedd.
He was winched aboard a Sea King helicopter from RAF Valley, Anglesey, and flown to Ysbyty Gwynedd at Bangor.
His injuries were not serious after the incident in the Coed y Brenin forest.
