Welcome back Chloe Bullock. Last seen in the AT&T Williams motorhome at the end of 2010, Chloe has returned to the fold this weekend and she will see out the remaining European races with Jo, Jennie and Harriet. Great to have you back, Mrs Bullock!

While on the subject of staff movements, our press officer Sophie Eden is flying solo this weekend. AT&T Williams communications chief Claire Williams can’t make it to the Nurburgring, so Sophie’s in charge. First appointment: dinner with the FIA this evening; second appointment: breakfast with the British press tomorrow morning!

The paddock invites were flowing this evening. Mercedes-Benz threw a party beneath their Mercedes grandstand for anyone with a hard pass and Red Bull threw dinner (plus karting and six £2,000 watches) at the media too. Pity about the weather, but the rain made all the Brits feel at home!

Adrian Sutil was left with some explaining to do today after he crashed an 800bhp Gumpert Apollo super car on the Nordschleife. German newspaper headlines reported that he’d had some teeth knocked out in the accident and had had to crawl from the carbon wreckage, but Adrian explained that he’s absolutely fine having lost control at a low-speed corner and hit the barriers at 10kph…
