Jenson Button will drive a McLaren on the streets of Manchester the day after the Belgian Grand Prix.
Title sponsors Vodafone are holding a three day event in the city over the bank holiday weekend and Button will turn up on the Monday to perform a demonstration in one of McLaren's F1 cars. The planned route will take him down Deansgate, onto John Dalton Street and into Albert Square.
"Driving an F1 car through Manchester is going to be a unique experience for me," he said. "There's a chance for the public to win some great prizes so I hope Manchester is going to be out in force and are looking forward to the bank holiday as much as I am."
Vodafone is also laying on Fanzone where members of the public can take part in karting a pit stop challenge and pose for photos in a replica F1 car.
