It’s back to work for AT&T Williams at Spa this weekend. Everyone’s feeling refreshed after the two-week factory shutdown, and the race bays at Grove have never looked better. New floors were put in during the break and they have new tool cabinets; let’s hope the FW33s go quicker as a result!

There have been other changes at Grove since the last grand prix in Hungary. Our new head of aero, Jason Somerville, has started work and two members of staff have had babies. Congratulations to Gordon Day and Lee Marshall on their new arrivals!

What do AT&T Williams team coordinator Paul Singlehurst and maitre d’ of the motorhome Jo Turley have in common? Neither of them can walk properly this weekend, the result of breaking toes during the four-week break! But Jo claims it’s preferable to the food poisoning she suffered in Morocco!

All of the drivers on the grid returned home during the summer break, except one. While Rubens was in Brazil and Pastor was in Venezuela, former AT&T Williams driver Mark Webber didn’t make it back to Australia. Instead, he cycled the Alpe d’Huez stage of the Tour de France with Alain Prost. “It was a great trip,” says Mark. To find out how they got on, take a look at the October issue of F1 Racing, out end Sept.
