GEOX/RED BULL RACING DEAL GETS BIGGER!

Sep 8, 2011

Red Bull Racing is pleased to announce that it has agreed a two-year extension and increase to its Team Partnership with Geox, the Italian Shoe Manufacturer, which began at the start of this season.

As a result, the Italian brand will continue to provide footwear to Red Bull Racing, including both its drivers, until the end of 2013. Already featuring on official team clothing, this new and increased deal means that from 2012 the Geox logo will also be visible on the rear-wing end plate and the nose of Red Bull Racing’s new Formula One car – the RB8. Geox will also continue to promote its Geox-Red Bull Racing merchandise range, which is available internationally.

Red Bull Racing’s main benefit from the deal is its extensive use of Geox’s breathable footwear, which includes patented technology of the Geox Net Breathing System. Geox soles are made from a special Geox membrane, which is both breathable and waterproof; this means sweat is eliminated, while water is prevented from entering the shoe. This technology is used at the circuit by the team’s mechanics and its Formula One drivers.

Christian Horner commented: “We’re very pleased to be able to both extend and increase our current agreement with Geox. We share a common focus on innovation and research in our respective industries and we both aim for winning performance – so the companies fit well together.”

Mario Moretti Polegato, Geox President and founder commented: “We are extremely pleased to continue our cooperation with such a dynamic, technologically innovative partner as Red Bull Racing. The partnership has already brought great satisfaction and offers added stimulus for Geox’s ongoing quest to develop new technologies applied to our collections. Sebastian Vettel being testimonial for the Geox Fall-Winter advertising campaign confirms and reinforces the success of this partnership between champions.”
