QUALIFYING IN KOREA

Oct 15, 2011

It was another last-lap classic qualifying in Korea this afternoon – but, for the first time this year, things didn't go all our way and we relinquish P1 for the first time since Brazil last year.

It goes to Lewis Hamilton on McLaren's 700th F1 grand prix, and he nicked it from Seb by just 0.222 seconds.

Our boys will be divided by Jenson on the grid tomorrow and the McLaren pole breaks our run of 15 consecutive pole positions in the process.

Afterwards, Vettel said: “We only had a rough idea from this morning with more fuel in the car, but I think we are in a good position. There’s not a long run to the first corner and Turn 3 is a little bit exposed, so we’ll see. It’s a long race, a lot of things can happen and I think tyre wear will be crucial.”

While, of his second row start, Mark said: "So, we’re fourth tomorrow to start. It’s a shame that Jenson got me in the end there, as it bumped me onto the left hand side of the grid, but we’ll see how we go tomorrow in the race. Tyres are going to be interesting tomorrow, as there were different strategies in qualifying."

As Sebastian announced over the team radio, we saved on our soft tyres during today's session which could prove important tomorrow. But as always, there's still everything to race for when tomorrow comes.

Christian was quick to confirm this when he said, "It’s going to be a fascinating race with strategy and pit-work and hopefully we can take the fight to the McLaren’s.”

We'll see you at the lights – it all starts 3pm Yeongam time...
