After a long wait, Toyota has released the official photos with its newest sports car, announced by the FT-86 concept, the new model will be called Toyota GT 86.

Toyota finally presents the series version of the sports coupe car developed with Subaru and that will be presented at Tokyo Motor Show 2011 which opens next week. Until then, Toyota has published an official set of photos and announced the official name for Europe: Toyota GT 86.

Toyota GT 86 Engine/Specs
The new Toyota GT 86 is animated by two-liter boxer engine with direct fuel injection that produces 200 hp at 7000 rpm and 151 lb-ft (205 Nm) at 6,600 rpm. The transmission is ensured by a six-speed manual or automatic gearbox.
The 17-inch wheels are standard. Toyota GT 86 dimensions are 167 inches (4240 mm) length, 50.6 inches (1285 mm) height and 70 inches (1770 mm) width. The wheelbase is 101 inches (2570 mm). Weight distribution is 53:47 front/rear and the center of gravity is 18.7 inches (475mm).
The model name is inspired by the brand’s history and especially by the Corolla GT AE86 from 1980. Toyota GT 86 model will have a “sister” called Subaru BRZ.
Toyota GT 86 goes on sale in the UK next June.
