Brazilian GP - Ferraris take fourth and sixth in Interlagos free practice
Interlagos, 25 November – The Ferraris of Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa ended up in fourth and sixth places after the second session of free practice for the Brazilian Grand Prix, taking place this weekend at Sao Paulo’s Interlagos circuit. Replacing his spent engine a few minutes before the end of the morning session with one already used during the season will not bring a penalty for the Spanish Scuderia Ferrari driver. He set the fourth quickest time (1.13.598) just behind the best of the session, Lewis Hamilton in the McLaren (1.13.392), Sebastian Vettel (1.13.559) and Mark Webber (1.13.587) in the Red Bulls. After starting out on the experimental Hard tyres brought to the Brazilian round, both Ferrari drivers went on to test the two compounds on offer by Pirelli – Medium and Soft. Felipe Massa set the sixth fastest time (1.13.750) after 39 laps at his home track in a session that was disrupted by a series of yellow flags that made it hard to analyse the long runs.
For Scuderia Ferrari there is one more hour of free practice available tomorrow morning before the decisive qualifying session scheduled for 1400 local time.
GP del Brasile - Quarta e sesta le Ferrari nelle libere di Interlagos
Interlagos, 25 novembre – Hanno concluso in quarta e sesta posizione la Ferrari di Fernando Alonso e Felipe Massa nella seconda sessione di prove libere del Gran Premio del Brasile, in scena nel fine settimana sul circuito di Interlagos, a San Paolo. La sostituzione del motore guastatosi a pochi minuti dal termine della sessione mattutina con uno già utilizzato durante la stagione non comporterà alcuna penalità per il pilota spagnolo della Scuderia Ferrari, autore della quarta prestazione (1.13.598,) alle spalle del migliore del turno, Lewis Hamilton su McLaren (1.13.392), di Sebastian Vettel (13.559) e Mark Webber (1.13.587) su Red Bull. Dopo un debutto con le gomme Hard sperimentali portate in occasione dell’appuntamento brasiliano, entrambi i ferraristi hanno proseguito testando le due mescole messe a disposizione dalla Pirelli - Medium e Soft. Sesto crono (1.13.750) e 39 tornate all’attivo per Felipe Massa sul circuito di casa, in una sessione disturbata sul finale dal regime di bandiere gialle che ha reso di difficile interpretazione il long run.
Per la Scuderia Ferrari ancora un’ora di prove libere a disposizione nella mattinata di domani, prima del decisivo turno di qualifiche in programma alle 14, ora locale.
