A busy tyre-testing day for Jaime Alguersuari in Brazil. The Spaniard tested today the four available compounds, two of them brand-new (hard), and the medium and a new soft compound, both nominated by Pirelli for this weekend. Alguersuari has completed a Grand Prix distance (70 laps), finishing both sessions in P11 (1'15.468) and P16 (1'15.388).
In the first session, the Catalan was very competitive in all the conditions, clocking the Interlagos track 29 times and keeping a good pace that kep him regularly within the top ten. At the end of the first ninety minutes of work, during which he alternated long and medium runs, the Spaniard set a best 1'15.468, which gave him the 11th position.
In the afternoon, Jaime continued working on the fine tuning of his STR6 and collecting data in terms of degradation of the tires under conditions similar to those expected for a normal Sunday. After setting a best lap of 1'15.388, which placed him in 16th position, the Toro Rosso driver underwentthe usual race simulations stints on soft tires.
Jaime will resume his work tomorrow to complete the final practice session (15h CET) and the last qualifying of the season (17h CET). The weather forecast announces heavy rain for Saturday and Sunday.

Jornada de pruebas de neumáticos y componentes en clave 2012 para Jaime Alguersuari en Brasil. El piloto español debió probar los cuatro compuestos disponibles en la jornada de hoy, dos experimentales de tipo duro, además del medio y el nuevo blando que se utilizarán este fin de semana. En el cómputo de resultados, Alguersuari ha completado la distancia equivalente a un GP (70 vueltas) entre las dos sesiones, que ha finalizado en 11ª (1'15.468) y 16ª posición (1'15.388), respectivamente.
En la primera tanda, el catalán se mostró muy competitivo en todas las condiciones, completando un total de 29 vueltas y moviéndose regularmente en el top diez. Al final de los primeros noventa minutos de trabajo, durante los que alternó runs medios con otros más largos, el español firmó un mejor registro de 1'15.468, que le dio la 11ª plaza.
Por la tarde, Alguersuari siguió afinando reglajes y cosechando datos sobre degradación de compuestos en unas condiciones similares a las que se darán el domingo si no llueve. Tras firmar un mejor registro de 1'15.388, que le situó en 16ª posición, el piloto de Toro Rosso efectuó las preceptivas simulaciones de carrera con los neumáticos blandos.
Jaime retomará el trabajo mañana para la disputa de la última sesión de libres (15h CET) y la última de oficiales de la temporada 2011 (17h CET), para las que las previsiones meteorológicas anuncian abundante lluvia.
