Jaime Alguersuari finished in 14th position the second free practice of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The Toro Rosso driver set a best time of 1'41 .983, slightly lower than this morning, and completed 34 laps.
The second free practice session at Yas Marina was significantly more productive than this morning's. On a cleaner asphalt, the lap times were most consistent with both compounds, and the arrival of the night and its subsequently lower temperatures made the work within the cockpit a bit more bearable.
The Spanish times' progress came from 1'43s to the final 1'41 .983, his best of the weekend so far, set on soft rubber. This time gave him the 14th spot in the final standings. Towards the end of the session, the usual GP simulation on the medium compound put an end to his working schedule.
Alguersuari will have another opportunity to set up his car in the third practice session, scheduled tomorrow at 11 am (CET). At 2 PM (CET) begins the penultimate qualifying session of the 2011 season.

Alguersuari cierra el primer día en Yas Marina en 14º lugar

Jaime Alguersuari ha finalizado en 14ª posición la segunda tanda de ensayos libres del Gran Premio de Abu Dhabi. El piloto de Toro Rosso ha señalado un mejor registro de 1'41.983, sensiblemente inferior al de esta mañana, y ha completado un total de 34 vueltas.
La segunda sesión de ensayos libres en Yas Marina ha sido sensiblemente más productiva que la de esta mañana. Sobre un asfalto más engomado y limpio, los cronos de todos los pilotos se han mostrado más regulares con ambos compuestos, y la llegada de la noche y el descenso de las temperaturas ha hecho más llevadero el trabajo dentro del cockpit.
El progreso a nivel de tiempos del español le ha llevado del 1'43 de su primer run al definitivo 1'41.983, su mejor marca del fin de semana hasta ahora, señalada con gomas blandas, y que le ha dado la 14ª plaza final. Hacia el final de la sesión, la habitual simulación de GP con el compuesto medio ha puesto el punto final al trabajo.
Jaime Alguersuari tendrá la última oportunidad de ajustar su monoplaza en la tercera sesión de libres, prevista mañana sábado a las 11 de la mañana, hora española. A las dos en punto dará comienzo la penúltima sesión de clasificación de la temporada 2011.
