English University and school students gathered from the this week for the finale of the Formula Student Schools event, where teams showed off the single-seater race cars they had designed and built.
Teams from the University of Bath, the University of Hertfordshire and Oxford Brookes University pitched their designs to a panel of experts, including Vodafone McLaren Mercedes senior design engineer Daren Stanley, while school pupils took part in a quiz at the event.
The winning design came from the University of Bath, whose design motto had been: “Design it simple, design it light, build it early.”
